Rescued journal

I created this journal for a customer that wanted to write up her memories for her Grandad when he was in the war. The title of this book was "5 Brave hearts" It just seemed fitting for her Grandad. I hand dyed the pages and then machine sewed bits and bob on each page. leaving enough room for her to write her Grandads story. I even found a vintage pencil and a hand made jewelled cross.

Art Cover Exchange

This envelope I decorated in a Military theme for the recipient
These were some envelopes Ive jsut posted off
Rocket Man was for Cal who likes space related covers
These are the cool envelopes Ive received

A cool end of the world cover
And lastley a Year of the Snake cover.
Ive just joined an Envelope swap group A.C.E (Art cover exchange) www.artcoverexchange.org
All the people in the group swap decorated envelopes with each other. Usually on the theme we each like.
But sometimes on what the postage stamp has on it. Like the Year of the Snake envelope. Pam matched it with the postage stamp. Most of the art is hand drawn or scanned images of an original piece of art from each member. I like to add washi tape and other bits. I think I will bind all the envelopes I receive together using the "Coptic" stitch. Once I have enough, that is. With the "Coptic" stitch it can be a progressive stitch, adding another envelope when I get it. So in the end (where ever that is) the book will resemble a snake.

Zine Swap

First ever "Zine" swap Ive participated in.  Its an A4 page folded to create a wee book.
Although the book is a craft style book, it comes under the common name of chapbook.
It is a very old style of publication, simple but stylish to produce.
And very easy for one to create something, that actulary turns into a book. I create one original, photocopied it in colour 5 times and sent it off to my  Karen at
www.iamrushmore.blogspot.co.nz  who is hosting the swap. I hope to get 5 "Zine's" in return. Ill post the images of the 5 I get in return when I recieve them.
